STEP. 9 How to use Voice Properly

You ready!!?? LET'S GO!!!!!

SOOO!!!! Wanna talk on voice?? Tired on typing eh...

FIRST STEP THEN!!!! Make sure you first have your preferences set..

Hit Ctrl + P to get your preferences tool up! Find sound and media button, and then locate the voice settings button..... CLICK IT!!!

There we go.. Make sure the voice is enabled. Choose how you would like to hear voice, from your avatars position or your camera view position.

Push to talk is to prefer when you are just gonna make short statements here and there. or if your microphone picks up a lot of static and background sounds.

Here you can choose what button you would like to use for push to talk. It's set to the scroller on your mouse as the default.

When you finished set up the settings click APPLY then click OK!!

Now to test your voice....

See the lil button by your chatbar with a microphone on it?

Make sure there is a little checkmark at the right upper corner of the button, tis will toggle the voice to stay on when you click the voice button.

OKAY!!! Now.. Click the button with the microphone on and say something in local, if the green bars appears then it's working.. clickt he button again to toggle off Voice.

Now try your Push to Talk button!! Is it working!?!?!?! AWESOME!!

You can't hear others so well?? Or they too loud!?!?!?

Oh Shyit!

Okay hover your pointer over the speakerthingy at the upper right corner and check if voice aren't turned all the way down.. you might have to adjust it so you can hear everyone..

If there is only ONE individual that are TOOOOO LOUD or Too Quiet.. Clickt he headphone button.. it brings up a window with all the names of the people who have voice enabled around you.. The people with green bars is talking or making sounds on voice.. Find this person who are too loud or too quiet and bring this persons volume controller up a bit.. or down a bit..

There ya go.. :)

Now..... Just to make things clear... Nobody likes a loud or a bad mouth on voice in local.. People will either turn you way down or simply MUTE you if you are being RUDE or just an annoying Loudmouth in local..

Nobody likes to hear you moan or grunt in local if you're not at that kind of sim.. If you're doing that kind of things with someone get into a Private Call..

To do a private call you just click the button with a phone on in the IM of the person you wanna do a private call with. to talk you just click the voice button as always but now it won't be in LOCAL.

So.. Are we clear!?!?

Don't be a complete ass on voice no one want to hear anyones drama, keep it to yourself or only those involved..

STEP. 8

STEP. 8 Resizing your hair or clothes!!

Okay!! You ready??!!

Here we go! 

FIRST step!! Rezz out a posestand!! 

If you don't have one you can get the one i use for free on the marketplace ->HERE<-

SIT on the posestand!! Most posestand you just have to left click and you will sit on it.. but if that doesn't work!!!!! RIGHTCLICK the stand and click SIT HERE or if it says POSE. Just click there..

Make sure you turn off your AO or it will interfere with the posestands animation.

PUT ON your THING that you wanna resize!

RIGHTCLICK your THING and click EDIT.

The edit tool will pop up like this *POP*

Make sure the middle button with an arrow on at the top of the edit tool is clicked, so that you are using the right tool!!

NOW!!! Make sure you have a GOOD view of your thing.

Hit STRETCH on the edit tool and these small boxes will appear!!

Make sure you have marked the option saying STRETCH BOTH SIDES!! It will make the thing to resize equally on each side and the position of the hair does not need to be fixed afterwards.

so..... Choose a box you can see properly, preferably the one that's closest. Leftclick it and hold..... then drag it slowly towards your thing or away from it.

When you drag towards it will get smaller and away from it will make it bigger..

Make sure you move it slowly or it can get out of control.

Lines will appear by the box you chose, these are measuretools for when you are stretching bigger objects. The Edit tool will dissapear so that it won't be in the way for your view when you build or edit.

Okay... So i know many thinks it looks allright when the hair is just a tad too big like on the first face.. or if it's a tad too small, like in the second face.. But let me break it for you.. Even if your avatar looks really good and none noobish, as soon as you put on a TOO big of a hair or too small, you go back to be the total noob in the room. I'm sorry but it's the truuth.

You want your hair to be perfect in SL just as much as in RL. If you can't handle it then just go bald....

It's the same for clothes and shoes too really.. If you can't get it to fit, try ask for help.. 

If your THING is perfect fit now.. then you're ready to go!!

STEP. 7

How to change your appearance!

So! 

This part is a bit tricky.. cause it takes alot of practice to get a proportionate look, even if you're experienced.

I know you probably got a awesome looking shape that you are satisfied with, but you probably want to make it more personal so you don't look like everybody else that have bought the same shape!

Even people who have been in SL for a longer time have problems with editing their appearance. But just as everything new, it takes practice to master it!! :3 May the force be with you.

SO!!! Off we go to the first steps!!

1. CREATE A NEW SHAPE

(Instructions are in the picture)

THERE WE GO!! now you have created a new shape and also put it on.. congratulations you now look like a furless gorilla!!

NEXT STEP!!!!

2. GO INTO APPEARANCE!!

(Instruction are in the picture)

I can't stress enough that if you're too short, people WILL see you as a child avatar and at some sims it is even illegal to be at as a child avatar.

I will also create a measure tool and put on the marketplace for free if you need help to "Get it right". I will also post a link in the Store tab on this blog.

This tool also show sizes for building a house, wich is very helpful for builders.

STEP. 6

Toolbar Buttons

This is how you change toolbar buttons. The one i have made a ring around is the most useful ones. I will show you under here what most of the buttons do.

This is my Toolbar buttons Map of Doom!

The Camera controls are really useful to move around the cam to see the front of your avatar specially when you are matching your outfit.

When you have Made a nice outfit you probably wanna save it so you won't loose it.. 

Here is how to do it:

1. Find the button with a shirt on.CLICK IT!!

2. On the window that pops up click Save as..

3. In the little window that pops up, write in a name for your outfit.

4. Then click OK.

You will then have the outfit saved in this window and in the folder in your inventory called Outfits. 

If you ever want to wear the same outfit again you can go back and rightclick the folder with the outfit and click Replace Outfit.

TADAA!!

STEP 5.

How To change your Display Name

1. Open up your profile!!

To open your profile rightclick you name above your head and click PROFILE. OR Click AVATAR at the left upper corner then click PROFILE!!

2. Find the button with a symbol on it looking like a wrench. And another window will pop up!

3. Type in the new name you want for DISPLAYNAME. Then copy it and paste it in the field under it.

4. Then you click Save!! 

It will pop up another window, just click OK on that one and when you look on your name above your head it will be changed.

There ya go!!

Now remember!! You will have to use the old name when you log into the game still.. This is just a DISPLAY name.

STEP 4.

How to unpack

It's pretty easy.. Follow my instructions:

not that hard eh.. :D

Make sure you pick up the things after you. To do that you:

1. Rightclick your item

2. Than click TAKE

Easy enough. <3

OKAY!!!! NEEEXT!!!

You probably need to know how to chat with people.. You know how to write in local..

To IM someone, you either rightclick the avatar or their name in local chat then click IM. Another box will pop up by your chat window and you will now be able to IM people. :)

Add friends are as easy as Open a IM box..

Rightclick the person or their name in chat and Click Add as Friend.

if you're in an IM box all ready, click the little symbol of two people holding hands..

The contact lists you will find your friends and the groups you have joined..

See the little button beside the button with people holding hands.. Looks like a teapot or a oil lamp of some kind, ya know aladdin and stuff.. ANYWAYS!!! That button will send your friend a Teleport and they can teleport to you. :)

THE AO!!!!

AO = Animation Overrider

The ao Makes you walk run stand sit more naturally

Movements are smooth and realistic

Allright ENOUGH!!

STEP 3.

How to Shop on Marketplace

So!

Hopefully you are still standing in the sandbox!

If not click ->HERE<- it will take you to a sandbox!!

Cause now we're gonna introduce you to your inventory!!

Byt the way!! to save a Landmark....

Click the tab saying world at the left upper corner of your viewer.

Then click Landmark this Place

A window will pop up, click close, then exit the window!

NOW!! Find your inventory!

It's a button with a briefcase on it.

 There we go!!

If someone sends you an ITEM it will most likely end up in the OBJECTS folder

If they send a FOLDER it will end up beneath the TRASH folder

Skins, shapes and eyes goes to the BODY PARTS folder

Clothes goes to the CLOTHING folder

NEXT STEP!!
Log into SL Marketplace! click ->HERE<-
Type in your name and your password of course!!
You will come to a page the looks like this

SOOOO!!!
What you will need for an entire new look iiis:
1. Shape
2. Skin
3. Eyes
4. Hair
5. Shirt, Pants/Skirt and Shoes
6. AO (Animation override)

So what you start with is to type in the search field:
Female skin... or Male skin..
It will pop up a lot of option but they all cost lindens right.
So look to the left scroll down a bit and you'll see lots sums and stuff..
Like this:

Type in 0 at the highest amount you can afford then click search and a new search result will pop up!!
NOW!!
What you have to look for is Gifts and Promos!! look at the pictures and the reviews of the skins to see if they are any good.. But then again they're free so you can try them anyways.
Want the skin/items?? Look to the right of the picture find a orange button that say [ADD TO CART]

!!!ALSO!!!! The ones that say DEMO are only demonstrations on how the actual product will look like.. so if you buy a skin that say demo you will end up having a skin saying DEMO all over the body!!!!

Try the gift pack people make there can be some usable things in them! Like THIS one!!
Some group gifts needs to be claimed InWorld Like this one ->HERE<- Click the little link saying
SEE ITEM IN SECOND LIFE
There will pop up a map and you will need to click teleport to location, and you need to be logged onto your viewer as you do. A window will pop up InWorld and you need to click the teleport button and you will teleported to the item in world. Some times you will have to join a group to get the gifts.
After you find a free skin  you can move on to get a shape and eyes and the rest of what you need.
The AO i will help with have no worries.

This place here has 2 awesome gifts InWorld ->HERE<- You need to join the group but free and the join board is right in the corner by the freebies

Click the board and click the link in the local chat, a window will pop up. In the window there will be a button saying JOIN NOW.... Click it then click okay and exit the window. Then click the board with the gift you want.

How to join their group and get the gift!!

 both these places send you folder with the items so it's only for you to open the folder and attach the thingies.

Too lazy to go tp around in InWorld again, i recomend to look at Panda punx gifts at marketplace, THOUGH they do cost 1L but they're really good :)

Shapes you can easily do yourself in appearence... But I say easy cause i've done it maaaany times before.. it's easier for you to find one you can get for free.. Preferably Modify so you can tweak it yourself as you want it but atleast you will have a base..

I'll try ths one even if it's not modify but i can always make my own later.. Just so you can see how it will look for now :3

The items will come to your inventory in something called Recieved Items!

HOW TO WEAR STUFF??

okay.. What you have to do is to rightclick the item in your inventory you want to wear, click WEAR or ADD on the menu that pops up, and it will attatch to your avatar.

TO TAKE IT OFF??

Okay, you either find the item on your avatar, rightclick it ON YOUR AVATAR and then click DETACH on the menu that pops up.

IF it's a clithinglayer that isn't a prim... like socks or something... Rightclick your name that's floating above your head.. Click TAKE OFF> then click CLOTHES and choose what you want to take off and just click it..

OR you go to your inventory, find the item you want to take off and rightclick it there and click DETACH.

OR you find the little button on the bottom of your screen with a symbol on it that looks like a T-Shirt. Click it and a window will pop up. Click the tab saying WEARING, and you will find a list of things that you currently are wearing, rightclick and detach or take off.

Test and match and you'll get a nice look in the end!!
